Simran Ahuja
Hi, I’m Simran Ahuja, currently in my last semester of Masters in Software Engineering (with a Data Science concentration) at ASU, Tempe. At Grant Thornton, KPMG and ONGC, I shipped analytics and automation that tightened controls and sped up decisions. I build end-to-end products specialising in, but not limited to GenAI, ML, data engineering, and full-stack development. Entrepreneurial and endlessly curious, I love turning scrappy ideas into real, usable things.

Ideas, Shipped for Real
Problems framed, solutions shipped, impact tracked.
I work at the intersection of systems, operations, and student engagement for ASU’s Level Up Career Clubs initiative.
I helped take Career Clubs from concept to execution by working directly with student organizations and employer partners, designing outreach workflows, and translating interest into real sign-ups and completed career pathways.
On the operations side, I manage and streamline the submission and review pipeline across Canvas, STOVA, and Google Workspace, building structure where ambiguity existed. This includes validating documentation, tracking progress across cohorts, and standardizing review templates to keep decisions fast, consistent, and scalable.
This role sharpened my ability to design processes that work for both people and platforms, balancing clarity, accountability, and speed in a high-volume academic environment.
Systems & Workflow Design
Program Operations
I worked on data-heavy client engagements where accuracy, traceability, and clear communication mattered as much as analysis.
I built dashboards and internal trackers using Excel, Power BI, and Airtable to monitor project health, timelines, and performance metrics, helping teams move from raw data to actionable insights.
I also cleaned and transformed large client datasets using Excel and SQL, ensuring consistency across reports that were shared with both internal stakeholders and external clients. A big part of my work involved making complex data readable, defensible, and decision-ready.
This experience strengthened my analytical thinking and taught me how good data work supports real business decisions, not just charts.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Business Intelligence
I supported IT audit engagements across multiple large clients, working closely with audit teams to evaluate system controls, data integrity, and compliance readiness.
My work involved analyzing system logs and datasets using Excel and SQL to identify anomalies, assess risks, and support conclusions around ITGCs and RAFITs impacting financial reporting.
I documented audit findings and workflows using KPMG Clara, contributing to SOC reports and client-facing recommendations aimed at improving security posture and control effectiveness.
This role gave me a strong foundation in risk-aware engineering, where technical decisions are evaluated through the lens of reliability, compliance, and real-world impact.
IT Risk & Controls
Technology Audit
I worked on internal tools designed to improve day-to-day efficiency for ONGC employees.
I developed a Flutter-based mobile application that functioned as an internal telephone directory with search and filtering, along with an emergency feature to locate nearby hospitals. The app consumed REST APIs to ensure accurate and up-to-date data retrieval.
In parallel, I redesigned parts of the organization’s intranet frontend using HTML, Bootstrap, jQuery, and JavaScript, improving responsiveness, accessibility, and cross-browser behavior.
This internship grounded me in practical full-stack development, where usability, performance, and maintainability mattered as much as writing functional code.

On-Campus Involvement
Student Leadership & Influence
Streamlined workflows, aligned stakeholders, and kept execution crisp from intake to delivery.
I work at the intersection of student engagement, operations, and employer collaboration for ASU’s Career Clubs initiative. My role focuses on moving programs from intent to execution by coordinating with student organizations, aligning outreach with employer expectations, and keeping participation friction low. On the operations side, I manage and streamline submission and review workflows across multiple academic and administrative platforms, ensuring clarity, consistency, and fast turnaround in a high-volume environment.

As the Vice President of International Sun Devils, I help lead planning and execution for large-scale cultural, professional, and community events on campus. I work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate logistics, manage internal processes, and ensure smooth collaboration between student leaders, vendors, and university stakeholders. The role strengthened my ability to balance leadership, accountability, and execution under tight timelines.

As Head of the Alumni Connect Society, I built a structured alumni engagement pipeline that connected current students with alumni across industries. I designed and ran networking sessions, speaker talks, and mentorship touchpoints, then tracked participation and feedback to refine each cycle and improve outcomes for students. I also led the Alumni Meet 2023 end-to-end, coordinating logistics and outreach to bring in an audience of 800–1,000 attendees. The role strengthened my ability to align stakeholders, manage execution timelines, and turn community programs into repeatable, measurable initiatives.

In my role with Aalishaan, ASU’s Competitive Bollywood fusion dance team, I managed both the financial planning and digital presence of the organization. I handled budgeting, expense tracking, and approvals while also overseeing social media strategy to improve visibility and engagement. This experience sharpened my ability to think creatively while staying disciplined with resources and timelines. I competed across the NDDL circuit and other national dance leagues, representing Aalishaan in regional and national events and winning several competitions, which sharpened my performance discipline, stage presence, and teamwork under pressure.

As a board member of Radiance, The Fashion Society of my college, I helped take campus fashion and culture showcases from concept to show-day execution by coordinating across creative direction, runway flow, logistics, and promotions. Alongside the organizing work, I also participated in fashion competitions and runway walks, which gave me a performer’s perspective on pacing, staging, and presentation quality. I used that insight to tighten rehearsals, improve coordination between teams, and keep delivery crisp under deadlines while maintaining a high bar for the final production.

Collaborative Space for Artists and Small Businesses
mozART
New Delhi, India
mozART was a student-led creative marketplace designed by myself and my
two other friends to bring together independent artists, designers, and small
businesses through curated offline experiences. I led the end-to-end execution
of the event, spanning concept development, vendor onboarding, spatial planning,
marketing strategy, and on-ground operations. The event created a structured
platform for creative talent to showcase work, connect with buyers, and build
visibility beyond digital channels.
The initiative received external recognition and was featured in The Morning Standard
(The New Indian Express Group), highlighting its impact in promoting emerging
creators and small enterprises. Building on this momentum, a subsequent edition
achieved significantly higher footfall and engagement, driven by refined outreach
strategy and stronger brand partnerships. We secured food and beverage sponsorships
from brands such as No Label and BRB, expanding brand exposure while offsetting
operational costs. The experience strengthened my ability to translate creative vision
into scalable, sponsor-backed executions with measurable audience impact.
Sustainable home-grown e-commerce brand
Meraki Thriftlist
New Delhi, India
Meraki Thriftlist was a sustainable fashion venture focused on community-driven
pop-ups and high-velocity digital drops. I worked across sourcing, brand partnerships,
content strategy, and sales execution, with a strong emphasis on demand forecasting
and audience behavior. Offline pop-ups across Delhi University campuses consistently
drew strong turnout and conversion, validating product-market fit within a student-centric
demographic.
On the digital front, I led Instagram-first launches informed by platform analytics,
optimizing posting cadence, drop timing, and product positioning. Multiple clothing
drops sold out rapidly, driven by targeted storytelling, collaborations with independent
labels, and limited-inventory strategies. The venture also partnered with several small
brands for cross-promotions and giveaways, increasing reach while reinforcing Meraki’s
sustainability-first positioning. This experience sharpened my understanding of consumer
psychology, data-informed marketing, and execution under fast-moving retail cycles.
